Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

Tales of Valor delivers evolved gameplay mechanics and 3 episodic adventures including 9 new missions, 3 new Multiplayer Modes, and new abilities to master. Command New Units - New infantry and vehicles such as the Schwimmwagen and Staghound will be available. The Schwimmwagen is an amphibious, all-wheel drive off-road vehicle while the Staghound is a highly maneuverable 4x4 Armored Car. Conquer New Territory - New maps based on famous battles such as Villers-Bocage will be available for competitive players in the online battlefield.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

Since the beginning of the Company of Heroes franchise, the stories that it has told have been born of the game's unique and engaging RTS experience. Focused on historically based, intense, small-scale WWII combat rather than the mega battles set in sci-fi or fantasy game worlds that are common to most RTS games, this allows players to experience both the fruits and follies of their battlefield decisions on an intimate level as they truly become part of the story.

This approach to storytelling is taken even further in three separate single player campaigns built into Tales of Valor. Set during the historical battles following the Allied invasion of Europe on D-Day, these three -- Tiger Ace, Causeway and Falaise Pocket -- illustrate the struggles of both individual German and Allied squads from both the perspective of tank commanders and crew and field soldiers. Each campaign contains three missions, allowing players to immerse themselves in the gameplay and get to know their squadmates.

In addition to its single player campaigns, Company of Heroes also features significant new multiplayer functionality. The first example of this are the variety of vehicles that players will have access to in multiplayer modes. These include, but are not limited to, the 'Schwimmwagon' an German amphibious vehicle used for reconnaissance missions and enemy troop harassment; the Hellcat, a sturdy Allied plane valuable in battling tanks from above; and the Kangaroo, a heavily armored, British troop carrier.

The game also contains three new multiplayer modes which utilize both Allied and Axis forces. 'Stonewall' mode is a co-op mode where players work together to fend off invasion as they struggle to keep a town from falling under enemy control. 'Assault' mode challenges players to push the limits of the front line as they choose a unit, battle opposing enemy units and attempt to destroy the opposition's headquarters. And finally, 'Panzerkrieg' is an all out arcade style tank battle where every unit is out for itself.

Tales of Valor features a new optional targeting system known as 'Direct Fire.' Through this players can target exact spots on tanks or other vehicles, specific areas of the battlefield or even individual soldiers within a unit. This ultra specific targeting system allows players to get even closer to the action than in previous games, yet is toggle based, making it is easy for players to return to standard firing as you choose. 'Direct Fire' is available in all single player campaigns, as well as the 'Panzerkrieg' multiplayer mode. Get your Tales of Valor now.

Starcraft 2

StarCraft II, originally envisioned as a single game, was announced to be a trilogy at BlizzCon 2008, consisting of one game followed up later by two expansion packs, provisionally entitled Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void respectively. The single player campaign mode for the game and its expansions will each focus on telling the story of a specific faction, starting with the Terran at first, followed up by Zerg and Protoss factions in the expansions.

Starcraft 2 - Continuing a Great Legacy
By Joel Owens

Producers and game developers struggle to make the next most addictive, mind-blowing and life-changing entertainment software the gaming community has ever seen. But with many titles and genres out there, not counting the independently created software, every new game appears to have been either a minor improvement or a cheap imitation of an already existing game. Most sequels are seen as futile attempts to bring popularity to franchise long-forgotten by gaming fans and enthusiasts. But this is where Starcraft 2 stands above the rest. The sequel to what, in fact, shaped and pioneered the real-time strategy gaming scenario and mechanics in computer gaming has met with nothing but anticipation, awe and gratitude.

With Blizzard games holy three: Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft, the latter offers the best strategy game to PC users, utilizing real-time tactics and techniques in this military-inspired video game. Of course, riding on the success of another game is one thing, but this sequel tremendously builds on the success of its predecessor while retaining the components that have both annoyed and endeared video game players around the world.

Still with three clans or factions to choose from, each with their own strengths and weakness, no one group innately more powerful than any other group, yet each group possessing characteristics specific to their race. The game is very balanced, allowing for recognition not only of the clan chosen but also of the individual units belonging to the clan. Starcraft 2 is not only a sequel, it is a trilogy. It would consist of a single game, with two expansion packs. Each campaign builds up on the story of the original Starcraft, but from different perspectives. Also, each part involves a different style of game play. One campaign involves role-playing elements, while another campaign involves mercenary tactics. Still, another segment requires the appeal of the protagonist to democracy.

The in-game cinematics have been dramatically improved to enhance the gaming experience, providing a sense of continuity and fluidity between the storyline and the game play. Portrait animations of the units have been revamped, giving a more interactive feel to the game. The usual briefing area has been redecorated to appear interactive, with a haggard-looking Raynor, a character in the previous Starcraft, now as captain of the battlecruiser Hyperion.

In fact, although the story of the game is linear, the steps taken to finish the game are not. It has been designed to be totally non-linear, giving the player the chance to explore and choose what mission to play first, with each of the missions having its own consequences and happenings.

Without even being released, loyal and new fans join each other in eager waiting for Starcraft 2. The game was wholly designed and improved with the players in mind, keeping intact the elements that have made the game a legend in the realm of real-time strategy playing and at the same time, improving on the many aspects that drive a game to its highest potential, using technology and experience not present to the developers, artists and programmers when the game was released in 1995.

The nice Online game Aion - The Tower of Eternity

The Tower of Eternity released in Korea with new localized versions in development. The game developer is NCsoft, a major Korean game developer. Aion combines PvP and PvE in a fantasy dream setting. A major feature of the game is flying, both to reach new areas of the game and for aerial combat.

In the beginning there was a god named Aion who ruled over a world called Atreia. This god created a race of intelligent entities to act as his servants whom he called the Balaur. After some time passed the Balaur disobeyed Aion's wishes and rebelled against their creator. The god Aion then created the 12 Empyrean Lords.

The Empyrean Lords in turn created a barrier which prevented the Balaur from attacking the humans charged under their protection. Within this barrier all things were safe. The Balaur ravaged and destroyed many of the living things residing outside of the barrier.

Some humans, living within the safety of the barrier, learned how to harness some of the same energy as the Empyrean Lords, known as aether. Such humans were called Daeva and like the Empyrean Lords had wings.

The Balaur were invited into the tower for peace talks, it is unclear what happened at that point, one of the Balaur lords lay wounded on the floor and the rest proceeded to attack the tower, the two Guardians attempted to raise the shield going to opposite ends of the tower, they were unsuccessful and the tower, along with the world, shattered in two. However they sacrificed there lives on order to protect a part of the world.

The other five reign the light covered bottom part of Atreia and claim that it was the Shedim lords actions that caused the breaking of the tower, they are known as the Seraphim Lords. The new shape of the world also reshaped its inhabitants, those that lived in the light part of the world saw little change except for and increase in their beauty. These followers of the Seraphim Lords called themselves Elyos and created the city of Elysea.

The inhabitants of the upper part of the world saw many changes, having to walk on ground strewn with fragments of the tower their feet became talons and having to fight against beasts their hands became claw like, the darkness made their complexion change and their eyes grew red adapting to the absence of light.

Your role in this war is pivotal. The fate of the world rests on your shoulders as you and your allies participate in brutal warfare, devise brilliant strategy, and claim power. For the first time in the MMORPG genre, Aion brings Player-vs-Player (PvP) and Player-vs-Environment (PvE) together. PvPvE manages the complex relationships between races and guilds and also controls the mighty Dragons, a non-player faction and a common enemy to all players. Take combat to the skies Flying is not just a means of transportation. It is the distant future and the Imperium of Man has spread across the entire galaxy. But our days of expansion are long past. Once, when the Emperor of Man led us in battle, we were unstoppable, but no longer. The Emperor has withdrawn to Earth to rule from his Golden Throne, leaving us to fight a thousand wars of attrition in his name where our defenders die by the billions.

We have little hope for support from Earth and we are losing the battle for human survival. Our only chance lies with the Space Marines, genetically modified warriors of superhuman ability and the pinnacle of human potential. But the Space Marines are few, the galaxy is large and our enemies are countless. The situation is most dire in Sub-Sector Aurelia. It is from this cluster of worlds on the very edge of the Imperium that came the Blood Ravens, a chapter of the Emperor's own Space Marines.

Warhammer Dawn of War II

Now savage aliens seek to overrun the sector, and break the Blood Ravens once and for all. Captain Davian Thule and a handful of Space Marines lead the raw recruits defending these worlds. Yet, another Space Marine prepares to join this desperate battle, a newly promoted Commander, ready to lead in our darkest hour. You are this Space Marine.

In the case of these multiplayer conflicts, gameplay and matchmaking is supported via the Games for Windows LIVE gaming service. In addition, unlike previous Dawn of War games or expansions, Dawn of War II features an increased and more realistic acknowledgment of the importance of cover. To that end players will notice that some environments in-game are now fully or partly destructible by certain units in their arsenal, adding to the battlefield carnage and the need for players to plan their strategy and choose their playable units and battlefields wisely.
